Auditorium For Echoes and Watercoursing were created while I was Sound Artist-in-Residence with the Centre for Memory, Imagination and Invention, Deakin University in 2011.
The way we want to approach the challenge of hearing the landscape is performatively. ‘Flows and Catchments’ […] offers a critique of the classic approach to the measurement of the ‘soundness’ of environments (associated with the eminent sound artist and theorist R. Murray Shafer). It proposes instead a performative model for the understanding of acoustic ecologies, based on sounding out the landscape. [Paul Carter]
