Breath Pattern

Sound installation commissioned by Mildura City Council, Breath Pattern (based on an idea by Paul Carter), combines the poetry and journal entries (read by Rory Walker) of John Shaw Nielsen, who lived and worked in the region at the beginning of the twentieth century.  Local high school children engage with Nielsen’s poetry and present their own responses in turn.  Four-channel installation located in the Riverside Precinct in Mildura on permanent display since 2018.
